DIY Halloween Silhouette Window

It is officially OCTOBER! Doesn’t it feel like we were just here? Hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. About two weeks ago I started decorating our house for Fall and Halloween. My son and I were off to the Dollar Tree and Walmart to look for those perfect decorations, but one was going to be completely DIY.

We picked up some black poster board at Dollar Tree for only $.69 a sheet! Then we had purple and orange Halloween lights. Even if you aren’t an artist or good at drawing, this project should be easy for you and there are SO many silhouettes you can add. ๐Ÿ™‚

First up, was tracing out the tree onto the poster board with a pencil, then cutting it out. Once it looked like a spooky tree I held it up to the window to make sure it would look good.

Finally, I added a bat, crescent moon, the ground, and some tombstones. The purple and orange lights were added last. Check out the final product at the end OR beginning of this post.

Pretty spooky right?! This is probably a favorite and will be doing it every year. ๐Ÿ™‚ We have gotten a lot of compliments so far. Look out for a blog post soon where I will show you the rest of our Fall/Halloween decorations!
